Alexander Homestead Wedding
Historic homes have the perfect amount of charm for weddings. This Alexander Homestead wedding was a beautiful backdrop for Hannah and Matthew’s special day. The house had a getting ready area for Hannah and her bridal party. Then the guests gathered in the garden for the ceremony. We loved the circular greenery arch for the focal point of the ceremony. Finally, guests danced in the barn for the reception The coolest feature was when the side barn doors opened up to the outside garden, and guests enjoyed the fire pit and fresh air under the stars.
Hannah and Matthew have been together for 6 years and have two amazing cats. “On our free time we like to get out of the house and enjoy the day or do projects around the house.” The couple met on a commonly known dating app called Tinder. Both were new to finding a relationship electronically and were each other’s first real matches on the app. Matt recalls seeing Hannah’s picture on the app as he swiped right, strongly hoping that she would try and match with him as well. The two started exchanging messages here and there on the app which quickly led to messaging each other all day. Matt recalls getting butterflies in his stomach as he sent her his phone number on the app and asked her to continue messaging via text if she was interested in continuing the conversation. Matt’s eyes lit up as he saw the first text message come through on his phone from Hannah.
The two continued talking and eventually picked a date to meet for the fist time for dinner. As Matt was approaching the restaurant, he remembers seeing the most beautiful girl sitting out front and thinking out loud “Man I hope that’s her.” The two picked up their conversation as if they had known each other for years. The night ended with a long-awaited kiss that both had hoped would happen. They decided to start dating as they knew quickly how special each other was.
As the years passed and their love grew stronger, the couple decided to move in with each other. For some couples, this may have changed the dynamic of the relationship in a way that would cause each person to grow complacent and sometimes even annoyed with each other. Yet it was the opposite effect that it had on Hannah and Matt as they grew even closer than they thought was possible.
After being together a little over four years, Matt and Hannah made one of the most important decisions of their lives. To get engaged. For other guys, this may have been a decision that had to be strongly analyzed in order to ensure that he was making the right decision. Yet for Matt, he had known from their first date that he wanted to marry Hannah which made the decision easy. Now Hannah and Matt have been together for over five years and have been engaged for over a year. After the wedding, their future holds images of a big family.
