Fort Lauderdale Wedding | Danielle + Andrew

Fort Lauderdale Wedding Photography

Danielle and Andrew had a family filled Fort Lauderdale wedding. Though the day started out rainy and dreary, the evening turned out to be perfect. Their wedding inspiration was “family focused.” They wanted to remember all their family and how they have helped shape them into the people and the couple they are today. For example, to tie in their family connection, Andrew’s boutonniere crest button is his family crest with the motto “Royal is my Blood” on it. His wedding band is his grandfather’s ring from Canada (the ring is a family heirloom that his grandfather wore for his marriage of 50+ years). Also, his tie is his family tartan. Danielle and Andrew have family members that have passed away so they included them with a remembrance table. In addition, certain pieces of Danielle’s jewelry were gifts that family members gave her.

First, they got ready at Courtyard Marriott Fort Lauderdale Beach.  Next, their ceremony was at Saint David Catholic Church. Finally, their reception was at Grateful Palate.

About the Bride: “I am a born and raised native for Aurora, Colorado. I graduated from University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in Greeley, CO with a Communication Studies and a minor in Recreation, Tourism & Hospitality in 2013. I currently work in the Marriott Company and perusing my passion in event planning. I enjoy working out, but it takes a lot to motivate me to continue a workout routine. I enjoy cooking and trying either new recipes or cooking the family favorites. While I am a quiet sports fan but enjoy hockey the most.”

About the Groom: “Born and raised native of Lone Tree, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University (CSU) with a degree in Biology in 2012. He is currently in school at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) for Physician Assistant Studies. He is very active and enjoys keeping himself busy whether it is up on the mountains skiing, playing hockey in adult leagues, or working out and an avid fan of sports with a few of his favorite teams being; the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Broncos to just name a few. His family have season tickets for the Broncos, so he tries to go to every home game when he can.”

About the Couple: Both of us are active people, but also do enjoy some down time together like watching movies. When we first started dating we took ballroom lessons, specifically the Waltz and the Tango together. We try to continue a date night including going country swing dancing. We are true country fans at heart. Our favorite song is “Springsteen” by Eric Church. We are both competitive, like to bowl, and even completed a Tough Mudder together as a couple. We have been fortunate to do some traveling together. Our favorite trip was at C Lazy U Ranch in the Winter Park area of Colorado. It was a country dream as we were able to horseback ride, engorge ourselves on a cowboy themed Thanksgiving meal, and trap shooting with Andrew’s family. We adopted a puppy named Mungo, a welsh terrier and who became officially a part of our family the week before the wedding. We are happy and excited for new adventures to come.

Their LOVE Story: Danielle was on her first day at her summer job at the Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel where Andrew had been working since he was 16 years old. At the beginning of Danielle’s shift, she was being introduced to the staff by her supervisor while Andrew was working a function as a banquet server. She spotted Andrew in the crowd of co-workers and friends, and went walking straight to Andrew extended her hand out to him and introduced herself to Andrew and no one else. After getting to know each other more, Andrew called Danielle and asked her out on a date, while Danielle was up in Greeley at a rodeo. The first date was going ice skating, then dinner. Andrew joked with Danielle on their first date of how “cheap” of a date she was, with using their South Suburban employee discount, as the date turned out to be free. During the date Andrew was literally spinning circles around Danielle as she tried to keep up, it was difficult to keep up with a hockey player. This is where they also had their first kiss in the parking lot at the rink. Dinner was at Andrew’s mother’s Italian restaurant; right then and there Danielle knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with Andrew before they got through the first course. And from then on they have been going crazy; dancing under the stars at a Kenny Chesney concert after sneaking down to the grass, attending Broncos games with his family’s season tickets, stadium tours, a trip to Canada and Danielle learning how to water ski. The latest adventure was leaving Colorado to move to Florida so Andrew could resume his schooling. Danielle enjoyed the comforts of a plane trip and a comfy 4 days being stuck in a hotel room while Andrew thoroughly enjoyed his grueling 36 hour road trip ALONE hauling everything they owned with him.

The Proposal: Andrew and Danielle had been planning on going on a ski trip in February 2015 in Granby, CO to Andrew’s family’s quarter share of a house. Danielle always joked about getting engaged ASAP; Andrew was the one to help keep her in check. Andrew received permission from Danielle’s father, David, earlier in the week and begged for him to keep his lips sealed. When they got up to the mountains, Danielle suspected Andrew was going to propose yet he was in adamant denial. This only turned what was supposed to be a happy, relaxing weekend for Danielle sour thinking it was not going to happen. That night, after dinner and bowling, Andrew asked Danielle while they were under the stars in the February winter snow of Colorado. Danielle said yes after her initial choice words were to scream profanities for making her grumpy for the beginning of the trip.

What’s Next? Danielle will be continuing to work in the Marriott Hotel while Andrew continues his struggles of the grueling study hours in PA school. We both look forward to exploring what Florida has to offer, but intend to move back to Colorado once Andrew has graduated. We will be balancing life as newlyweds, fur baby parents and finding our own niche in our careers.
